WHO'S IN CHARGE HERE?
Magpie is a former journalist, attempted historian [No, you can't ask how her thesis is going], and full-time corvid of the lesbian persuasion. She keeps herself in birdseed by writing those bad computer manuals that you toss out without bothering to read them. She also blogs too much when she's not on deadline, both here and at Pacific Views.
Magpie roosts in Portland, Oregon, where she annoys her housemates (as well as her cats Medea, Whiskers, and Jane Doe) by attempting to play Irish music on the fiddle and concertina.
We had an abrupt start to our day just before 7 am when we were awakened by an earthquake. It wasn't very big as far as earthquakes go the USGS put it at only a 2.5, just enough to be felt but it still packed a noticable jolt. The house shook for a couple of seconds, and the cats came running to see what was up.
The positive aspect of the quake is that we're up early enough to get to our favorite breakfast place before the rush. Which is where we're heading right now.

Yes, we're still busy at our 'real job.'
We have a few half-finished posts that we'll try to get out before they become ancient history. Stay tuned.
